The standard the supply chain checks against
FCSA is the UK’s only independent, not-for-profit accreditation body for umbrella companies and other contractor service providers. Since 2008, it has set the standard that agencies, end clients and workers rely on to know a provider is compliant, transparent and safe to work with.
Accreditation isn’t a badge a provider can just buy. Providers apply, and FCSA independently assesses them against its Codes of Conduct before any accreditation is granted, then continues to monitor them for as long as they hold it.

Built to close the gap the market left open
Before FCSA, the umbrella and contractor services sector operated without any independent standard. Anyone could set up shop, and there was no reliable way for agencies or end clients to tell a compliant provider from one cutting corners, or for workers to know who they could trust with their pay. FCSA was formed to bring order to that, giving the market its first rigorous, independent standard to check providers against.
